Followed by a cute halloween/pumpkin themed parfait. Mmmm.
On Tuesday I was out shopping in Kawasaki at a place called Dice, and stopped by a Thai restaurant called Tinun.
The restaurant itself was small, but the decor was very nice.
The food was tasty too. Kind of looks like Chinese food. It kind of tasted a little like Chinese food... ^__^
On Thursday evening I met back up with coworkers and had all you can eat shabu shabu - aka hot pot. Flavored soup with raw meat and veggies that you cook on your own. And the food just kept coming. It was a nice way to wrap up the week.
Can you tell the one on the left is spicy?
Here are Yoshimi and Steve with their son Howie. I think he's sleepy...

And Chiaki and Bill. With 3 more trays of meat under Chiaki's arm. So full just thinking about it...
On Friday I finished class early so I went to the Granberry Mall right next to the train station for lunch. I ended up stopping at a french bakery called "Vie de France".
The food was good, but the lady at the cash register was surprisingly unfriendly. Most service-oriented people in Japan are super friendly. She almost gyped me of 400 Yen! Good thing I was paying attention, and not zoning out like usual. But at least the food was tasty. A cheese and spinach bun, a red bean ball and a white chocolate filled chocolate bun.
And for the final meal - salad carbonara(?)...They even gave me a tiny ice pack to keep it cold on the way home. So thoughtful...
And some sausage gratin, which is basically potatoes covered in cheese and topped with sausage. Yum! I know...not very Japanese, but still tasty! ^__^
