Lydia in NYC

Phil's cousin, Lydia, was in town for the weekend, so we went into the city to have lunch and hang out. We decided to try a new place. It was called "Amazing 66".

The food was OK. I guess if you use their soup dumplings as a test though they kind of failed. The dumpling part was really tasty, there just wasn't any soup...

We also ordered the pig intestines and I think cow intestines...not quite sure. I tend to stay away from that stuff, so I can't really say anything about the taste, but the rest of Phil's family seemed to enjoy it.

Lo Mein noodles that weren't too greasy, which was nice.

And we even tried a new dish I've never seen before. It was a multi-grain rice with seafood and veggies. It was pretty good, and the presentation was very nice. While we were eating we saw at least 3 different tables get Peking duck. Not sure if this place is well-known for the Peking duck or if they just didn't know what else to order...

It's Phil's Uncle Chan in a snazzy hat! ^__^

After lunch we made a stop at our favorite place, the Hester Street Fair. After the previous weekend we had to stop by the Melt Bakery stand again for some ice cream sandwiches - they were so good!

Lydia tried the Marcy (brownie with mint ice cream) that I had last time, Phil tried the bourbon shortbread cookie with peach ice cream, and I had the snickerdoodle cookie with cinnamon ice cream. The snickerdoodle was delicious. A perfect treat on a hot day. ^__^
