Labor Day Weekend

Last Monday was my sister's birthday, and rather than spending money on a present she probably doesn't need I took her fiance Tam's advice and took her out to eat. Considering the location of the restaurant we brought the fiances along with us. She had been wanting to try a place in the city called Dinosaur BBQ, which is a rib joint. There are a couple locations in NY, but the only one in the city is in Harlem. Phil was a little worried when I told him where the restaurant was, but we made it there and back safely. The restaurant is kind of hidden - if it weren't for the people milling around outside you would probably miss it if you weren't looking for it. And it doesn't help that there are absolutely no signs - not a single sign outside with the name of the restaurant. Just a sign over the door that says "Welcome". As if they're so good that they don't need to tell you who they are. You just know...
Here's a pre-dinner picture of Phil, Mandy and Tam. Unfortunately my camera was low on batteries (again), so there are no food pictures...sorry! But just imagine ribs, brisket, chicken and pulled pork - your basic rib joint food.
They had a beef barley soup that was really good, but I don't think it's enough to make Phil want to brave the streets of Harlem to go back a second time...
