The Meatball Shop

After our trip to California we didn't make it back into NYC for a couple of weeks. We were headed to a late lunch, but decided to make a quick stop back to the Hester Street Fair - its become a favorite stop for us this past summer. Phil decided to try the BBQ pulled pork this time.
It was delicious!

Phil's Aunt Chan and cousin Lydia are snacking on some Luke's lobster rolls.

Kevin tried a spicy dish from the Korean food stand.

After our quick light snack we headed to our lunch destination. Along the way we passed some NYC "street art" - an abandoned bicycle that was completely covered over with yarn. Very colorful.

For lunch we headed over to a place called The Meatball Shop.

They had an interesting menu concept where the menus were laminated and you just mark off your order with erasable marker. Kevin and Lucia had a little too much fun with the menu.

You could just order different kinds of meatballs (chicken, beef, etc.) or you could go for a meatball sandwich and you get to pick what type of sauce you want. I went for the sandwich. It was really good and very filling.

Phil ordered the chicken meatballs, which were also good.

For dessert they had ice cream sandwiches. We ordered a chocolate fudge cookie with mint ice cream one and a peanut butter cookie with vanilla ice cream. It was a little bit of a challenge to eat, but well worth it. A good way to cool off in the summer heat. ^__^
