Congee Village and Doughnut Plant

Phil's cousin, Alex, came to visit from Seattle so we headed out to NYC for lunch at Congee Village. Here's Alex and Lucia.

Phil's sister, Winnie, was there too with her boyfriend Peter - just back from Peru not too long ago.

Now, on to the food! A visit to Congee Village wouldn't be complete without the fried donuts and sweet sauce.

And after our last visit here we had to order their "famous" garlic fried chicken.

Noodles, noodles and more noodles...

Some kind of seafood soup.

And the fried tofu (although I think they made it differently from last time...still good, just different)

After lunch we headed back to Lucia's apartment to hang out and warm ourselves from the cold. We did make a stop along the way to the Doughnut Plant. They always have a couple of seasonal flavors. Their seasonal flavors for the Valentine's Day/Chinese New Year holidays were Passion Fruit and Glazed Ginger. So we got one of each of the seasonal donuts and a Valrhona Chocolate cake doughnut and a Coconut Cream. They were delicious (though I decided to pass on trying the Glazed Ginger...)

Lucia had also made some snickerdoodle cookies, so we got to snack on some of those too. They were equally delicious. ^__^

Hanging out with family - check. Bellies full - check!
